The Pier at Pine Orchard

Most of the stone carried by the Branford Steam Railroad from the quarry at Totoket Mountain is transferred from the
rail cars to barges at the railroad's pier in Pine Orchard. From there, it is taken to Long Island. The pier is enclosed to keep down the noise and dust created by the dumping.
It's situated in a neighborhood of expensive waterside homes.
