BOSTON & MAINE ROUNDHOUSE

P-2-d Pacific 3654 at the East Somerville Roundhouse. I think all steam engines at the Boston enginehouse were kept hot from steam produced by the adjoining boilerhouse -- fires were banked or dumped I believe. The steam escaping near the cab is from the connection to the boilerhouse. The 4-6-2 was scrapped in August 1956, a few months after I saw her in steam.

Photographed by Edward Ozog, May, 1956.
