BML#51 at the CPC Railroad Museum by moonlight

BML#51 seen here was one of the two 70-Ton GE locomotives that the BML bought new in 1946. Now retired, it is seen here by moonlight at the City Point Central Railroad Museum in a picture taken at about 1AM. Behind it is CPC#606 (ex-MEC#606), a restored wooden caboose built by the Maine Central in 1914. The stainless steel coach parked ahead on the same track is MEC#391, a combination chair/cafe car previously operated by both the New York Central (ex-NYC#3011) and Amtrak (ex-AMTRAK#3951), that was built by the Pullman Co. in the 1950's. The CPC is a privately owned museum located at MP 2.16 on the 33-mile grade of the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad. (You can see additional images of the CPC Museum by visiting its own index page in this archive.)
