Crossing the City Point Trestle (MP 2.0) viewed from BML#50

This view of the City Point Trestle over the "Head of Tide" at MP 2.0 on the 33-mile line of the B&MLRR from Belfast to Burnham Junction, ME, was made from the running board of BML#50, a GE 70-ton diesel electric locomotive purchased new by the BML in Novenber, 1946, and still running strong as it approaches its 65th birthday! During its career it has put in well over well over 1,000,000 miles on the 33-mile Maine short line which opened in 1870.
