Macaulay Interlocking Signals

The concete stanchions for the west side of the interlocking are visible here or at least one in this picture. Green paint marks the insulated joints . The signals will protect eastward movements through the interlocking Notice conduit piping in the background. The yellow bar in the bottom of image is there as part of the high speed switch assembly. Also notice the switch point clamps in yellow holding the not in service crossover positively closed. Movements of MOW and work train equipment involves receiving permissiom from PAR dispatchers to take the whole block out of service, removing the clamps and hand cranking the as of now non powered switches by hand.

Taken from Phil's Roast Beef parking lot in Andover MA

The land in the background is part of the Andover Village Improvement Society conservation land. http://avisandover.org/ and the railroad has been careful in not disturbing their adjacent conservation area.
