Pan Am Southern (ST) RJED: MP448 Eagle Bridge,NY

A Day that started with such Promise! After ringing in Maple Weekend at Maple Land Farms in Salem, I checked the NE-rail message boards for any action on account of the gorgeous weather. To my delight, ST RJED lead by east facing MEC SD40-2 #609 had gotten permission to head down the Rotterdam Branch around 11 am. After arriving in Hoosick Falls, stack train 22K rushed by, then ST EDRJ would take the main from Eagle Bridge heading west. Continuing east, RJED tripped the DED at Ushers calling for the train to be stopped and inspected. After finding no flaws, RJED was on the move again but at a very slow rate. Ill performing locomotives made the climb from Mechanicville to Schaghticoke and Schaghticoke to Buskirk very difficult; I don't believe the train breached 10 MPH all the while. Wanting to make all my waiting worth the while, I stuck around and watched as the train pulled into the siding at CPF 448 to outlaw. I've been told the train was combined with a light NS 14R in the early hours today.

Nice shot Colin. If you saw that EDRJ before heading to Hoosick Falls your day probably would've quickly became brighter!
