Train on Track 3 at Kingston Station, Ri as Train 164 Arrives

AMTK 617 (ACS-64) leads train 164 into Kingston Station, RI and passes a train idling on 'new' track #3. Train on track 3 consists of AMTK 103 (P42DC), AMTK 82605 (Amfleet corridor coach), and AMTK 105 (P42DC). The diesels were present due to track work between Liberty Interlocking, just west of Kingston Station, and High St. interlocking, east of Westerly. With single tracking in place, the diesels were available to rescue any train that broke down in the single track zone. By the time train 164 arrived it appeared that both tracks were back in service, as train 165 went west on Track 1 shortly before 164 arrived on Track 2. The diesel train was gone this morning.
