EDPO Passing Thru Ayer Station Now as a CSX Train

MEC 7575, MEC 7535, MEC 7622 (C40-8's), MEC 502 (GP40-2LW), and MEC 5966 (B40-8) lead the 1st CSX EDPO thru Ayer MBTA station. The young man standing just beyond the unit is expecting to catch MBTA 407 heading west. It is not due for another 6 minutes but EDPO has a long train and the T train will be about 5 minutes late. EDPO was told to tie down their train at Westford as the cab meeting the crew would not be delivering their relief.
<BR>I realize that nothing but the CSX announcement reported by Railway Age that it has taken over Pan Am today makes this a CSX train; nothing in its appearance has changed.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

My guess is that once G&W/B&E takes over PAS ops this fall, given that EDPO hauls primarily non-CSX originating traffic (eg, NS and VRS/GM), this traffic will operate like ED-8 terminating in Hill Yard with CSX handling carloads bound for points east of CPF-312.
