MECHANICVILLE, NY

NW 2875 (X-NKP 875) RS-36 was one of many N&W units that showed up on the D&H in late 70's. Thinking about Alco's entire RS-36 production, I don't believe many were equipped with steam generators for use in passenger service.

You are correct! According to Wikipedia article about Alco's RS-36, only 2 of the 40 unit total RS-36 production run had high short hoods to accommodate steam generator NKP 874 and 875. As an aside, D&H had 12 conventional low short hood RS-36 locomotives of which 3 still exist (#5017 is operational on the Delaware & Ulster RR).
