Two X-PRR PC GP-30's flat switching in former New Haven Hump Yard. Two retarder operator towers remain although switches are all hand throw now and hump has been "flattened" (my term). Also, P&W 164 leased D&H RS-3 is in yard doing an interchange. Does anyone have info on how many class tracks there were in the "bowl" that they could share?

Another of a great series chronicling the immediate post New Haven world and the short lived and unappreciated PC in New England.

According to this 1920 vintage map of the design of NYNH&H's Northrup Avenue Yard in Providence, it looks like there may have been 7 wb class tracks and 17 eb class tracks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northup_Avenue_Yard#/media/File:Railway_Age_Northup_Yard_Map.jpg
Here's a link to a detailed description of the yard posted on Wikipedia that includes a circa 1970 photo of the yard at the Cemetery Ave bridge: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northup_Avenue_Yard
