Fresh Paint in Mechanic Falls

In late 2021 St. Lawrence & Atlantic's parent company Genesee & Wyoming acquired over forty GP38-2's from HLCX (many if not all originally built as MP/UP units) and started a new number class for them; in the 3500 series.

So far SLR has been given one of these units; QGRY 3537, seen here making second run solo as power for local 512 seen rolling west through Mechanic Falls, ME by the old station building with four boxcars on their way to switch New England Public Warehouse in South Paris.

It was nice to hear a roots blown engine on this line again, as the SLR typically uses GP40 (and variants) with two SD40-2's borrowed from QGRY. The two SW1500's they had used for years were sent to different G&W lines in early 2021.
