Wreck Train to Exeter, NH -- July 1998 The wreck train was busy just down from the Salem St. crossing in Exeter (where the tracks used to have a jig in them) after a Guilford train put cars on the ground. The train first left the wrecked cars on the siding by the old station station in Exeter. Later some of the cars were transported to the old spur at Rockingham Junction where they were taken apart and scrapped.
Here the train is on the spur siding at Rockingham Junction before heading down to Exeter. A year later this siding was cut off with the installation of a new switch and the track upgrade preparing for the beginning of Downeaster service.
