Brand new Conrail SD80MAC at Chester on track in 1996Brand new Conrail SD80MAC on display at Chester on track in Chester MA in 1996. only 30 SD80MACs were ever produced and Conrail was the only railroad to buy them new. They were split between CSX and Northfolk Southern after Conrails split between the two railroads. This unit, the #4110, went to CSX and ended up in a wreck a few years ago then used as parts and later scrapped. The unit, unfortunately, is the only SD80MAC that has been scrapped. As of now the rest of the units were acquired by NS and are slated to by upgraded. I remember going inside the cab of this unit but I couldn't find any photos that I took of it inside.
