Cutting Brush

One of the contributions that the Old Colony & Newport Railway has made over the past 25 years of operation has been to keep the Newport Secondary Line clear from overgrowth.

This photo shows OCNRR volunteers Don Elbert and Matt Moore clearing a fallen tree on the North end of the line in preparation for a charter run later in the day.

The photo also shows the importance in making a track inspection prior to a 'revenue' operation.

Later in the day, the riders were able to enjoy the view of the sun setting over Narragansett Bay as they rode along the North track.
