Midway! Part IV

This is another shot of a pit in the roundhouse at Midway. Completely removed by the 1940's, the concrete floor is the only reminder that a roundhouse once stood here. Although one of the largest yards in its day, it only lasted 20 or so years, until the depression and competition from the Cedar Hill yard in New Haven sealed its fate.
