NEW HAVEN FREIGHT AT WOODLAWN

ALCO DL-701 1413 leads a westbound freight stopped for signals at Woodlawn Tower (SS154) in Pawtucket, RI. The train is at the entrance of the Northup Ave. Hump Yard which is behind me. To the right is the switching lead to the Pawtucket team yard. In the backround is the freight house and to its right is the original route through the center of Pawtucket. The locomotives are at the start of the line relocation finished in 1916 -- Boston Switch is the other end.

Photographed by Edward Ozog, 1957.
